Case Results
Our client, a 5 year old child, was viciously attacked by a bulldog and suffered lacerations to her chin, and lip, which resulted in permanent scarring. We demanded policy limits from the responsible party’s homeowner’s insurance and settled for the policy limits within a few weeks of notifying the insurance company.
Our client signed a contract with a builder for the construction of a new home. The contract stated that the house was to be completed no later than 2 years after the date the contract was signed. The contract also stated that if the house was not finished by the date set for completion, the builder would buy back the home from the purchaser. Initially, the builder refused. After three days of arbitration, the builder relented and paid our client a six figure settlement and repurchased the home.
A client was named as sole beneficiary on her late husband’s life insurance policy, who suffered a long bout with cancer. Prior to his death, meddling family members unduly influenced the husband to name them as beneficiaries to the policy. The insurance company refused to pay our client any money. We sued and reached a settlement of approximately $215,000.00 out of the $250,000.00 available proceeds of the policy.
Our clients were driving home when a driver who was three times over the legal limit turned left against oncoming traffic, failing to yield the right of way. Our clients were catastrophically injured. In addition to recovering all of the available insurance proceeds, we were able to recover and additional $185,000.00 from the driver.
Our clients had homes destroyed by Hurricane Charley. The insurance company refused to pay. We sued and settled with the insurance company for a confidential amount.
Our client advanced monies to finance the purchase of an investment house. The borrower refused to pay our client back for her investment. We sued and reached a settlement with the borrower within two weeks of filing suit.
Our client was sued by a former paramour, who had quitclaimed a large parcel of property to her so she could obtain financing on the property, as his credit was poor. She obtained the financing and after the boyfriend squandered through the credit line on the property, he sued and alleged that he was fraudulently induced to deed the property to our client. In addition, our client was sued for various claims ranging from conversion (stealing) of money to breach of contract. At trial, a favorable verdict was obtained on all 10 counts of the complaint filed against our client.
